Fifty Quebec apps last shipped before Apple raised the upload floor

Since 28 April 2026 App Store Connect refuses a build that was not made with Xcode 26. Google's equivalent landed on 31 August 2026: updates to an existing app have to target API 36.

An app already on the store is untouched by either. It bites when someone reopens the project a year later to fix one thing, and the upload comes back refused with no reviewer involved.

I had 96 Quebec apps on hand from the French-listing audit, so I read one field for each off Apple's public lookup endpoint, currentVersionReleaseDate. Fifty are dated before 28 April 2026. Eighteen of those also predate 29 April 2024, the floor before this one. Median gap, 707 days.

The obvious hole in this: a release date is not an SDK version. Xcode 26 shipped months before the cutoff, so a March 2026 release may already be built on it, and I would not argue with anyone at that end of the table. 2017 is another matter.
