Six App Store rejections, August and early September 2026
All of them mine, under my own developer account. All six apps are live now.
Three of them came back in one review, on the mood journal's 1.4.0.
The first was 2.1(b), "In-App Purchase products not submitted with the version." The subscription was approved. It just wasn't attached to the submission, and the reason it wasn't is that the attachment doesn't survive a resubmit — you cancel, you fix something, you submit again, and the products come off with no warning anywhere in the UI. I re-attach as the last step now and then read the submission back over the API, because the save screen will tell you it worked either way.
The second was 2.3.8: the store said "Mood Tracker: Feelings Diary" and the icon on the device said "Vent log". My instinct was to rename the listing, which would have cost me the localized names in 39 storefronts. It's CFBundleDisplayName. It needs a build.
The third was 2.3.3 — my iPad screenshots were the iPhone set rescaled. That one I earned.
Then there's 2.1(b) in its other form, Information Needed, which looks like the same rejection and isn't. Height predictor, 1.0: "we cannot locate the In-App Purchases, such as 'Weekly' and 'Yearly', within the app at this time... please reply to this message providing the steps for locating the In-App Purchases in the app." Nothing to build. You answer it in Resolution Center and the version moves.
5.1.1(iv) is the one I'd never have guessed. Voice keyboard, 1.0, reviewed on an iPad Air 11-inch (M3): "A custom message appears before the permission request, and to proceed users press a 'Allow' button. Use words like 'Continue' or 'Next' on the button instead." Put a priming screen in front of an iOS permission prompt and the permission verb has to stay off your button. Allow, Enable, Grant, Turn On — all of them read to a reviewer as your app claiming to grant the thing itself.
1.4.1 was the ER wait times app. Naming the ministry in the store description isn't enough; a reviewer has to be able to reach the source from inside the app.
I do this as a service now. CA$1,500 per app, flat, paid when it's approved, and I keep answering review until it is.
